We are all born bodily sensual beings, but over time we begin to separate our body from our senses. Some generally refer to it only as a “corporeal box” in which the spirit languishing in it is imprisoned – this is how religion taught us to feel. But have you ever wondered where our feelings and emotions are hiding, and where are they born? In this article, we’ll talk about how not to ignore your physicality, and how to restore your ability to feel.
Where sensuality is born

Modern people have a lot of sex, but they literally dry up from a lack of sensuality. We put it in one box with sex, and since sex is a taboo, we also automatically label everything sensual as “prohibited”. We are imposed rules on which touches are allowed and which are not. Physically, we separated from each other, each closed in his own box. We can happily pet a dog or cat, but often we feel uncomfortable touching ourselves. Adult children are often embarrassed to touch their parents, because “they are not little anymore”, a man and a woman also cannot touch each other if they are not a couple. And many couples believe that touch necessarily leads to sex.
Of course, sensuality can lead to sex, like dinner or a walk. But sensuality itself has nothing to do with sex. You can be sensual with family, friends, and even strangers for whom you have not the slightest attraction. Sexuality is the energy of the second chakra. It is associated with water and taste. Fluidity, kisses are of the nature of water and are associated with pleasure. They are about desire and pleasure. Sensuality, on the other hand, is born in the fourth – the heart chakra. It is associated with unconditional love, the ability to give and receive, it has no object. This is about the deepest intimate contact of souls, a subtle merging with another, a touch that opens the heart. But what about the heart chakra?
Energy river

What do you usually do when you are in emotional pain? When did something hurtful and unpleasant happen? Often we tightly seal our feelings and “get distracted” – we go headlong into work, business, help and “rescue drowning”, smoking and alcohol, a computer – whatever, just not to feel pain and fear, not to live, not to miss them through your body. If you cry in pain, they will tell you that you are hysterical, especially when it comes to a man. Few can afford to live and let their anger pass through the body (and this is not necessarily a mate and fists). To live it at the moment when it happened, and not ten years later in the therapist’s office.
In our society, to feel is to be weak. We were taught that “macho never cry”, “why are you crying like a woman”, “you have to keep your face”, “don’t make a sour face – no one likes such girls”, “why are you snivelling?”, “Don’t shout”,”Don’t whine”, “don’t be sad”, “you never know what you want”, “don’t laugh so loudly!” We are ashamed to feel pain, resentment, fear, it is a shame to rejoice in front of others, to enjoy our body and sexuality – in general, how ashamed! (and this is despite the abundance of advertising images of cold “sexy bitches” and “heartless macho” imposed on all sides, from which, by the way, we experience an inferiority complex). What’s going on in this world?
Energy flows through our body like a river. If we don’t allow ourselves to feel, this energy is blocked. It does not stop and continues to accumulate in this place, and then enters the physical plane in the form of illness or insensibility of the body and heart. This hits women especially hard, because feeling for a woman is her nature. It means feeling life, living it, letting it pass through yourself, your body. After all, female energy is much more fertile, heavy and “earthly” than male. If a woman does not feel, she becomes serious and angry. However, the same applies to men. Modern people most often live “in the head”, “head”, “in thoughts” and, cut off from their nature and corporeality, become serious and sick. When a person suppresses his emotions and feelings, he becomes irritable, petty-vindictive and cowardly.
I let myself feel

One knowledgeable osteopath told me that God opened the door for man to this world, to this body, but no – everyone is breaking back. People are afraid of the depths of corporeality and feelings. The task of a person is to immerse himself as much as possible in his body, its sensations and live through it. But too much distortion has accumulated there, and it is quite painful to dive into it. The fact is that our body remembers not only the traumas that we ourselves have not lived through and forgot, but also the suppressed bitterness and pains of our ancestors, the stories of our fathers and grandparents. Healing comes through a state of openness and honesty. It is very painful there, but it must be recognized, lived with the body and released. Everything that manifests itself will never be the same.
When we experience destructive emotions, let them pass through the body and let go, we receive their power. When we accept something, it “unpacks”, “unfolds”, becoming a part of our energy, making it more powerful, and the body more sensitive. When a person lives, passes destructive emotions through his body, he “sausages”, “tears to pieces”, “hits” the nervous system, but this is how we get to pleasure and joy in the body! When it literally rings with energy and we feel ourselves to the tips of our toes.
Body immersion and grounding practices

The most important practice for experiencing your feelings and emotions is “I allow myself to feel …” How do you feel from this one phrase? Sometimes, just saying it is enough to have a powerful therapeutic effect. Whatever happens, we ourselves can allow ourselves to feel – resentment, pain, anger, fear, sadness, etc., and allow ourselves to feel them in the body. Of course, there are many situations when it is not immediately possible to react, for example, to a “goat boss”. But as soon as possible for this, you say to yourself: “I allow myself to feel anger.” And then, instead of suppressing it, you begin to be filled with it, be aware of it and try to breathe through it. You can say: “How angry I am! God, I’m going crazy with anger! ” And, having reached the peak, this state leaves and fills you with peace and a feeling of strength. You will no longer begin to destroy either yourself, or your loved ones, or the atmosphere around you. This is the healthy living of emotions.
This is a very simple, but in fact, very powerful practice. When you start, then “along the chain” you will begin to reach such states and “programs” that are clearly “not yours”. For example, getting lost in one of the streets of a strange city, a practicing girl suddenly felt a strong melancholy in her chest and pain. It was hard, she could hardly breathe, but “allowed herself to feel it”. After some time, these sensations in her chest “burst” and she burst into tears with “heart” tears “to the guts”. After that, incredible relief came. A little later, “by chance”, she found out that her great-grandmother lived in that area, who was suffering greatly from her pleasure-seeking husband. Nobody knows, but perhaps the great-granddaughter finally allowed to live and release what her ancestor did not allow herself. And I know of several such cases. In any case, this way you will “pull out” a lot of old unnecessary unlived trash from your own history.
Despite the power of the practice, it should not be practiced by people with a shattered nervous system and those who have biomechanical injuries in the head and neck area. In this case, it is better to do “body grounding” practices in order to remove energy from the head. And to release emotions, use the technique of “unsent letters”, when you write a message to a person in six parts: 1) accusations, anger; 2) resentment, pain; 3) “I’m afraid that”; 4) “I’m sorry that”; 5) “I hope that”, “I want that”; 6) gratitude and love. And it is very important – you write the “message” from the person to yourself in the same order. You can continue the “correspondence” until you feel that this is enough. Believe me, this seemingly “stupid” practice will provide you with a lot of insights and relief!

As already mentioned, the practice “I allow myself to feel” is very powerful, and sometimes states and emotions come out of such strength that it is difficult for the nervous system to cope with them. When you “unpack” the programs and “compression regions” that sit within, you release a tremendous amount of energy, or “electricity”. When you work with electricity, you must be grounded. So here’s the same thing! In addition, it is useful for everyone to do grounding practices in order to remove energy from the head and lower it into the body, since an excess of mental energy tears off the ground and a person begins to live “through the head” and analysis, losing the feeling of his physicality and pleasure from it. Life then becomes as if you watch it from the outside, on TV, but do not participate in it. We don’t need this. Being grounded means feeling life and people with your body, being here and now. So, the following allows you to ground:
- communication with nature and the earth – it can be walking in the park or outside the city on the ground, especially if you do it barefoot, this is planting plants and flowers, weeding out weeds – all that is said about “tinkering in the ground”
- nutrition – light food, especially fruits, raises energy upwards, and cereals, legumes, potatoes and bread help to ground and feel “weight”
- physical activity – washing, cleaning, sports, yoga, dancing perfectly turn off the head and transfer energy into the body. It is advisable not to go in for dancing and sports that simply require mechanical movements. In fitness, a person with tension wins his body, but does not get to know it with benevolence and affection. Mechanics without spiritual filling deprives the body of sensuality. Dancing to the rhythms of the drums works especially well because they activate the energy of the first and second chakras inside; dances with kicks on the ground are also great in this sense – doing them on a Russian scale, one can say: “My anger, come out! my pain, come out! my sadness, leave me!” (:
- communicating with animals – stroking, washing, combing: when we do all this, we calm down
sauna, bath with a broom – a super-practice for grounding without further comment!
massage, dynamic breathing, rebreathing help to remove body blocks and restore body sensitivity (in this regard, you may be interested in exercises from the “Collection of Bioenergetic Experiments” by the famous body psychotherapist Alexander Lowen, but they will not work for people with biomechanical injuries of the neck and head!) - hugs and body touch – scientists have calculated that a person needs four hugs a day for survival, eight for health and well-being
- sexual intimacy – teaches you to be in contact with yourself, to feel and feel, to follow your desires
sleep, wallowing in bed without thoughts and books – works if you are not thinking about anything and enjoy the sensations of the bed, bed linen and your own body.
These simple actions, if you allow yourself to do them at least half an hour or an hour a day, help to achieve peace and harmony, fill the body with energy. And most importantly – do not forget to also allow yourself to feel both joy and pleasure when they “ring” in you and fill your body!
