Who among us has not heard of the hero of Greek myths Atlas, who, as punishment for his disobedience, was forced to hold the firmament on his shoulders. The first cervical vertebra, which performs equally important functions in the human body, was named after him. In this article we will talk about the consequences of the displacement of the atlas, why it changes its position, what myths surround its manual fixing, and where is the point of application that helps to finally put it in place.
Consequences of the atlas displacement

It is not for nothing that Eastern medicine considers the first cervical vertebra to be a bridge between the body and the mind – of the six sense organs, four are located in the head, and therefore the atlas is considered an important link in maintaining physical health and harmonious spiritual development of a person. If the first cervical vertebra is displaced, it leads to compression of the vertebral arteries feeding the brain, which reduces clarity, awareness, attention and memory. This compression leads to headaches, migraines, dizziness and brain fog. At the mental level, insufficient cerebral blood supply can manifest itself as a feeling of derealization and depersonalization, a lack of happiness, irritability, nervousness, and depression. Such a person may suffer from insomnia, fatigue and lack of energy. Attunement to the frequency characteristics of the surrounding space occurs through the medulla oblongata, which, in the case of a displaced atlas, cannot quickly respond to changes in the situation. Without a physiologically correct first vertebra, a person cannot make adequate decisions, and therefore it is not for nothing that the atlas is considered a vertebra of success and will.
In addition, the displaced first vertebra also exerts compression on the spinal cord – as a result, signals from organs and various body systems begin to arrive in the brain with interference and delay, and this reduces the brain’s ability to process this information and the correctness and speed of response to incoming signals. In addition, the entire human musculoskeletal system adjusts to the displaced atlas, resulting in spinal deformities and muscle compensation. They, in turn, lead to compression of internal organs, nerves and arteries, which is the cause of many diseases. In such cases, doctors treat only their symptoms, but not the root cause, and often do not even know about it! At the same time, it is the placement of the atlas in a physiological state that creates the conditions for natural self-healing and healing of the body and the ability of a person to literally live and enjoy his life. At the same time, people can’t believe that the symptoms and diseases that they have suffered for decades are gone forever. There is nothing surprising here – only biomechanics, which has been expertly brought into good working order. But for what reason does the atlas move from its normal position?
Childbirth system as the culprit for the displacement of the atlas

Of course, the displacement of the atlas can occur as a result of trauma at any stage of a person’s life, but, as statistics and studies show, the initial displacement of the first cervical vertebra occurs mainly with the help of obstetricians in maternity hospitals. There are many materials on this topic on the Internet, in particular, monographs by the outstanding Russian neuropathologist A.Ratner. Interestingly, in ancient Rome, newly born children of slaves were deliberately twisted using a special technique so that they would grow up depressed and incapable of protest. For the same reason, there were no uprisings in ancient Rome, and only one Spartacus, who was born free, and his neck was not folded, raised a mutiny. But this is exactly what is happening today at the level of official medicine in maternity hospitals across entire countries!
Obstetricians are trained to use the so-called “turn on the handle” when removing the baby’s head when a crunch is heard. The results of such sabotage don’t appear immediately, but after several months and even years. At the same time, the mother lying on her back cannot see what people in white coats are doing with her child. It is also curious that the lying position in which a modern woman gives birth is unnatural and creates abnormal pressure on the head of the fetus. In all ancient societies up to the Middle Ages, when the “witch hunt” began, including the midwifes, women gave birth, squatting, and in the final phase of childbirth – in the knee-elbow position, which is deep physiological. Moreover, experienced midwives, following deep natural instincts, also played the role of chiropractors, who were able to recognize in time the displacements of the bones in an infant and correct them. But today there are no chiropractors in maternity hospitals…
Childbirth while lying down was introduced in early Renaissance Europe as more “scientific” than “wild pagan”, and women cut off from their natural instincts were placed under the “professional” control of government medicine. Interestingly, in the comments under one of the videos about childbirth while lying down, one of our women wrote the following: “During contractions, I asked to squat and fell to my knees, and the doctor said: “Look how she feels about nature”, – but I was not allowed to give birth like this. I realized that our birth as it is is a mockery of a woman and children”. At the same time, doctors either do not know about this problem, or are afraid to speak openly, and only a few dare to go against this system of real genocide, the purpose of which is to educate unhappy and unconscious slaves.
In 2001, the book by Russian doctor P.G. Zamaratskiy “The cause of the disease is birth trauma”, where he cites deadly statistics: in 70-80% of children after birth, damage to the cervical spinal cord is observed, in 35-40% of the thoracic and lumbar, which cannot but result in huge problems for the physical and mental health of these people in the future. Fortunately, the ideas of the neuropathologist Ratner are already being adopted by conscientious doctors, and the maternity hospitals started to open in some places, where vertical and semi-vertical childbirth began to be practiced, as a result of which the birth trauma of mothers and their babies was sharply reduced. We are the generation that have broken necks, but we can say “No” to those who try to do it with our children.
Atlas fixing myths

Nevertheless, adults can also place the first cervical vertebra in a physiological position. But in this case, not everything is so simple, and here we will consider the two most common myths about fixing the atlas, and also we will figure out why not everyone is helped by manual fixing, and even harms many. So, such myths include statements that: 1) Atlas fixing is safe; 2) having reached its natural position, the atlas will never be able to return to the pathological position due to anatomical and mechanical reasons. To find the truth in these matters, let us turn to the simple biomechanics of the human body. At the same time, by fixing, we mean both the work of a chiropractor, as well as specialists who, with a special vibrating device, act on the short muscles surrounding the atlas and holding it in the wrong position, and “in a few minutes they put the vertebra in the correct position” and “fix” it there.
So, it’s hard to imagine a situation where Heaven would adjust to Atlas holding it, isn’t it? Likewise, the first cervical vertebra always adapts to the skull and, in particular, to the occipital bone to which it is directly connected. This is an axiom: if a person has displaced bones of the base of the skull (which is exactly the result of birth trauma and non-physiological childbirth), then the atlas is also displaced. Displacement of the first cervical vertebra is always a consequence, and no matter how diligently the specialist does not set it, without restoring the correct position of the bones of the base of the skull, it will still return to its original position. That is why the result of manual correction of the first cervical vertebra is unstable, which debunks the second myth about the Atlas that, allegedly, “having returned to a natural position, he will no longer return to a pathological one”.
As for the first myth – in fact, the safety of the fixing procedure, it must be borne in mind that the existing position of the atlas is the result of his adaptive reaction to the displacement of the skull bones. If you roughly interfere with this compensatory reaction, which the body has been developing for a long time, then this entire fragile compensation system collapses. That is why, after manual correction, many people feel a deterioration in well-being and complications of existing symptoms. And that is why fixing the atlas can be not only ineffective, but also dangerous. But what to do in such cases, and how can the distortions of the skull and, in particular, the displaced position of the occipital bone be eliminated?
For many, it seems new to the idea that the occipital bone is directly related to the position of the jaw, which, when displaced, causes distortions of the entire cranial structure. Nevertheless, this is a fact long proven by science, backed up by more than a hundred clinical studies. The fact is that as a result of nonphysiological childbirth and the “help” of obstetricians, more than 80% of newborns have a so-called lateral strain, when the front part of the skull is displaced in one direction, and the back part in the opposite direction. This outwardly inconspicuous distortion, causing the displacement of the “Sky for Atlas” – the occipital bone, is fixed by improper occlusion of the teeth. And the application exactly at this point allows you to align the position of the occipital bone and, as a result, the first cervical vertebra.
This can be done by biomechanical treatment, represented by an innovative direction of craniodontics, the OSB/ BOS method (balance of occlusion and structure) and the Italian method of aligning the spine Starecta in combination with mewing. For illustration, below are the works of the Italian craniodontist Professor Stefanelli, who achieved the physiological position of the atlas “just” by moving the position of the jaws and changing the dental occlusion. In the last decade, all these biomechanical directions have begun to develop in the world, which makes healthy support of the cranial vault by the Atlas not a myth, but a reality.
